You neglected to mention that Britain had a "little help" as well, well before the French helped the Americans.

England had purchased "Hessian" troops, from six principalities in GERMANY - early in the War.

The Battle of Saratoga was the turning point of the war, when we beat Burgoyne, and the German troops led by Genreral von Riedesel, etc. It was then the French saw that the Revolution could be won by the Patriots and got involved.

SARATOGA, NEW YORK October 17, 1777 - A British army of nearly 7,000 surrendered today to a combined force of American militia and Continental regulars. "The fortunes of war have made me your prisoner," said British General John Burgoyne as he handed over his sword to his American counterpart, Horatio Gates. "I shall always be ready to testify that it was through no fault of your excellency," Gates replied.

News of the momentous British defeat spread quickly through the colonies and fueled speculation that the French government would now seriously consider entering the conflict on the American side. For months, rumors have suggested that Louis XVI needed solid proof of the strength of the revolution before he would officially commit French military aid to the cause. The British defeat at Saratoga could very well buy that help.

and dude, please calm down. Im thinking maybe we could have a rational debate instead of just shouting "UR A RTARD LOOL"
At the beginning of WW2 we were rated number 7 based on military strength. Hitler was impressed by our national resources, not our military power.

How times have changed........:S2: Don't worry though, shit hits the roof again we got your back.

    Have a good one!:s4:

Sorry man, but the Americans pretty much got their asses handed to them in the War of 1812....mostly from Canadian militias. Oh yea!! The Americans most certainly did not WIN the war of 1812. I bet that taught you Yanks a lesson.

Next time you plan on invading Canada...bring some Pampers.
