Shrink a Fitted Hat?

Yeah...I can either send it back...or just return to their store (Lids) up at the plaza. I'm definitely not putting it in the washer...and if I soaked it, it's 100% wool, so wouldn't it all shrink? I'll probably end up returning it...it's a shame really lol.

I knew it was going to be a bit big...but whoa...it's absolutely huge on me (it was the smallest size...6 7/8). So now I don't know what to do...it's such a nice hat...I would love to try and shrink it to my head size (I have a very small head), but it's also a pretty expensive hat, and I don't want to fuck it up or have it end up not fitting anyway. how about sticking an air compressor in your ears and making your head grow instead? in retrospect, that would probably be easier..
