    A piece of advice.

When you are in a relationship, do not go all out the first valentines day. After 6 months of datting my g/f I put hearts I cut out of construction paper with little messages saying what I love about her and why I love her. Plus I bought a donzen roses and some bath salts along with a card I made. I thought they were pretty good ideas and she seemed to really like them.

Now I'm on only the second Valentines day and have nothing. Apparently I'm only capable of one romantic idea per relationship. I can't cook, plus we don't even have most of the things required to cook. We have one pot and a stove and oven.

So yeah, don't do something right off the bat that you will have trouble topping next year. Although than again there isn't as much pressure to do something really great. Just need something to show I love her. I will prob end up making a card.

Cain't wait till steak and BJ day.

Yeah, I kind of screwed myself too. Last valentines was our first together too, and I went all out. This year I had to top it, so I ended up blowing a grand on a diamond necklace.

    Burn.

I just think the first valentines day should be fairly low key not because you have to top it next year, but because personally I'd be totally creeped out if I'd only been dating a guy for a few months and he went wacko... but then again I seem to date total assholes... so what do I know
I think cooking a nice dinner for your date is a GREAT first valentines day gesture... sweet but not cheesy.
Oh and valentines day sucks. By the way. In case no one noticed.

My boyfriend doesnâ??t want to exchange gifts or do anything this year, I donâ??t even think thereâ??s going to be flowers . He got us tickets to a concert that was pretty expensive for our anniversary which wasnâ??t very long ago, so I understand that he doesnâ??t want to spend any more money right now.

I think valentines day is cheezy, you should just always tell the one you're with that you love them and that theyre great. I don't ever feel like people need to "top" what they have already done. If your girl gets pissed tell her about all the people (like me! haha) who would love to have a valentine at all. If I had a boyfriend I would like to spend time with him on the couch and watch a movie on valentines day. I think all the symbolic love stuff is cheezeball, like flowers and hearts and candy. Love is love. You can't define it or personify it in any way, so I think.
