But really, it all depends on the care the grower puts into it, the soil, temp. conditions, nutes, and of course, a good phenotype is the #1 key to getting quality cannabis.

Indoor HPS/MH lighting is almost identical to the natural sunlight outdoors, HPS being the closest.

Outdoors can create a lot of problems too. You can get pests, bad weather, and too hot of weather. Cold weather will result in slow growth, which can effect the precise harvest time with stunted growth. Frost is a common problem outdoors. Pests are a pain in the ass, same with animals too. I have had deer ravish my plants down to a stick, and have had bugs eat at my buds and lay shit in the buds. Hot weather can result in major stretching, it can burn your leaves, dry up your soil in a matter of hours, and even burn the buds if not properly shaded.

The only way to do outdoors is by closely monitoring your crop. In Colombia, they are known for quality nose candy, not cannabis. Their cannabis is probably the same as Jamaica's. Jamaica has dirt weed everywhere, and the good stuff is really expensive, and not super mind blowing.

Some of the best weed I ever smoked was homegrown, and some of the worst was in Jamaica.
