    Religion and concern

I am newly born believer in Jesus. And today I got to thinking about whether it is considered sin to smoke grass. I decided to take a break for awhile(i will remain active in the forum) and sort out my thoughts and see where I end up.

The question is, How do you feel about this issue?

Bud is in the bible somewhere, or so I hear. But you really shouldn't look at a book as the way your life should be run, and more as a guideline to good moral/family values. Does smoking break a commandment? Unless you steal your neighbors stash, Thats a no. I don't think that God ever said to not touch a plant. I belive that whole forbidden fruit thing is just a metafore. . .

A killer, you keep workin, and working, and working and they keep
taking, and taking, and taking. They\'ll throw you a few little crumbs
they\'ll give you a home, a car, a television, a vacation. Someday you
may even have a bank account that you\'re scared to lose.

I'm pretty sure you will not find anything against marijuana in any of jesus' teachings.

But they do call it the tree of knowledge, and a flower can sometimes be called a fruit. Maybe cannabis is The tree of Knowledge. Oh My Lord I'm going to HELL.

I like what you did with metaphor here. I thought it was creative.

Hello there. I think that as a newly born believer,im gonna presume here that you include bible use as part of your life now.If thats not the case,i apologise for the presumption. If someone claims that the bible is the true word of god and inspired by god.then it quite clearly states in Genesis1 verse 29 that all the seed bearing plants were given to mankind,by God,for food. The fact that so many of us choose to toke it instead these days is irrelevant here at the moment.Something that God gives to us imho is good and its there for all to read in the good book.So theres my ten bobs worth !LOL I honestly believe that smoking the weed is as far removed from sin as possible.I wish you all the best and hope that you soon come to your decision and i hope that whatever you decide,it turns out all good for you.Im glad you aint deserting the boards cause ive really loved some of your posts.Peace Chris
