yeah cure in glass jars, and to dry them honestly just hang them somewhere its not humid anywhere really if it reaks then it might be a problem. some people hang them in black plastic bags with newspaper..

would like to point out that you do not have to cure your buds you can dry it and start smoking it or store it in a sealable bag or other sealed container and you can even bury it, sealed ammo cans work good for burying it as it wont leak like a wood box might, if it was dried correctly you should have no problems with mold when you dig it up several months later.
seems like every drying thread people post about curing when it isnt really necassary do you think the stuff you buy has been cured in glass jars and opened up daily, not very likely as that alone would be a full time job for anyone that grows a decent amount.
to the original poster would suggest drying indoors if at all possible for best results, wether you go through the curing process or if you just bury alot of it afterwards is really up to you.

lol no no no i know how to cure i would come back every night and undig it and open the jars lol :P

its just that i dont want to have kilos of weed anywhere near my house, i aint saying 6 foot under dig it up just cover the top oif the box so it isnt noticable to any wandering ppl in that particular field lol.

But if i came to let air them out every day for at least 2 hours than it should be allright?

I agree curing isn't necessary. But isn't it desirable? I have no growing experience yet, but from what I've read part of the whole point of growing your own is to get the best quality herb possible (unless you're growing a large operation for profit). I've heard that if you don't cure your dried buds they will have more of a bitter taste and a more harsh "grassy" smoke. Again, I've probably never smoked cured buds... but I've read that it makes a considerable difference. Anyone know?

Just because curing isn't neccessary doesnt mean anything, lol. It preference, and if you plan on storing buds for a long period of time i would suggest heavily making sure they are dry enough to store, one mold spore will unleash an manifestation, i had dried leaves not even bud and they grew mold in a container.

it is preference and while it doesnt really effect the quality in my opinion it can improve the taste sometimes,I know of alot of growers who dont bother with curing and its for their own personal use.
alot of things can influence the taste such as the strain, growing conditions wether they was flushed prior to harvesting.

oh yeah here is tip

i bought some weed wasnt dried yet, chucked in some dried leafs from summer harvest the leafs became damp like not dry they didnt break if i twisted them (which dried leafes would :P) and the bud was dry-er.

Oh yeah this was a jar that i chucked them into.

lol i mean i dont know what you can pull off with this tip but thout it migh as well go up here as many people are posting stuff about drying and curing here.

Also it works the other way around:

See if you accidently dry your bud too much but you wanted to cure it than chuck in a fresh leaf with the dried bud

Yeah, I would definitely cure indoors. The main thing about drying is the smell. But the more I think about it, if I'm gonna build a box to dry in I might as well just build one for indoors and just get a good fan/carbon filter on it and an ionizer for the smell. That should work I would think... since I'm not planning on a huge yield.

What is an ionizer?? also how long should does it usually take to dry buds?? I have never grown before ad want to try but from what i have read the part that takes the most effort is after the harvest. i dont want to start growing and then see that it is too much work so if anyone has a good tip on drying i would be greatly apprciated to read it.
