it hits better! lol kinda ruins ur bong though hard to clean afterwords use a spirit like saci or moonshine or my fav whiskey

Does anything profound happen, does it filter the smoke better or give it a taste or anything. has anyone even tried it?

Well, if you use something like beer or liquor which has an alcohol content, at least some of the THC in the smoke will be absorbed into your bongbooze or whatever. So it'd be pretty ineffective, not to mention nasty. I have smoked through Listerine before, though (20% alcohol content) and it was pretty interesting...minty, cool.
