Mutli- watage shop lights

I picked up 2 multi-watage shop lights, They came whith t8 bulbs, says they run all t12 bulbs, can i put T5 bulbs in them? they really say nothing, the light it's self says to run only t8's but the box says all t12's kinda confused. Any one?

no t5's won't run on regular shop light ballasts, you need a t5 ballast to run a t5 bulb, and they are a bit more expensive. i think most shop lights will run t12's or t10's and if you buy a t10ballast it will run t10's or t8's, at least that is how it was explained to me a while back at the hydro shop.

hmmmmm... no biggie, the t8's ar working and seem to have the best percentage of lumens perwatt under t5's. My only concern is that its says t12's only on the box, and t8's only on the light, now this is a multi-wattage shop light, im not really sure how the go by "T"
