it looks as if the entertainment industry is also implementing technologies in TV's and recorders... I for one am not effected cause I have old analog equipment yet,But I was considering an HDTV in the future... I don't do much if not at all movie watching so I could care less about the technology on the way here... I am comfortable with xp in all the things I do,image manipulation,,,banking,,,the internet,,,and running my servers...

uh... yeah. I've never had the slightest interest in Linux, but it looks like the Microsoft marketing machine has finally convinced me it is time to look into changing my OS.

I was a Winblows user for years (From 3.1 to xp) my GF has been using Linux for the same amount of time...after a dozen years she fianally got me to try Debian Based Linux with the KDE desktop...SCREW WINBLOWS,SCREW MICROSOFT!!!!!!! no more anti virus,no more anti spam,anti adware ect!! all i need is a simple firewall.
Vista is gonna require 40 gigs to run right,a lot of it was stolen from Apple (Oops,Microshit owns 40 percent of Apple Corp., I forgot)
Try Ubuntu with the KDE desktop...and no you don't have to be a real geek to use this.

ummm, vista does not have any "anti-piracy" protection as M$ only cares about not pirating their shit.... so if your copy is legit, everything else under that is cool. And just some food for thought, 4 years later after XP and its still not bug free, don't think for a second Vista will be flawless from the gate. And putting another OS or replacing your OS on your PC can be a headache, but it also be easy, so not every situation is the same.... But once again, if you have pirated programs, M$ can't do anything about it anyway, so no worries.

you should really scroll up, and look at the link skink posted....

as of now, it's not much, only really for pirating music/movies... (copying it to your computer) but i'm willing to bet it's not going to stop there....

oh btw, i'm very comfterable with windows, especially xp... i wouldn't consider using anything other then windows... i don't have really any problems with xp either... now don't get me started on windows ME.... that shit drove me bat-shit insane... i have no problems with spyware, adware, viruses... i don't even have a anti-virus on my comp... and i haven't ever really had a need for one.. you just gotta be smart with what you're doing...
