Driving around high with no bud
That's not quite how it works. The 4th stops searches and seizures without probable cause. However, as most lawmakers and law-upholders in this country fall more to the authoritarian end of the political spectrum and not the libertarian end, your car is considered "free-game" in most States, if not all.

Cops can also pretty much search your car for whatever reason they feel like... they won't always, but especially if you're driving a car that they would think might have drugs (Beat-up car, older car, tinted windows) be ready for searches.
What you CAN do is, put all your stuff into a locked container within your car when driving. I have a compartment under the passenger's seat that locks, I use that. A briefcase would work too, any non-suspicious locked container.
I do know in some States they consider this unallowed to be searched without a warrant, and even if the cop tries, he needs your keys or your combination. At that point, you can remind him you do not consent to any searches, and ask if you are free to go. He either can let you go, or arrest you so you're forced to open it.
Doing this leaves everything open so, after the fact, your lawyer has the best chance of fighting the searches in court.Bob the Awesome Reviewed by Bob the Awesome on . Driving around high with no bud Do cops give people DUI's a lot for driving high even if you have no bud on you? I've been reading a lot of people saying it's pretty safe to drive high.. Rating: 5
