breediing an L.E.D. specific strain?
so this is probably a funny question, but i have to ask it anyways.. do you think it is possible or worth it to take a seed such as lowryder germinate and grow it under L.E.D lights, get a male pollinate a female grow those seeds under l.e.d. lights and continue that process until you have a plant that grows quickly, and yeilds high under l.e.d. lights, thus making a variety that grows very well under l.e.d.'s so you can lower your electric bill and, i completely forgot what i was going to say but i swear it was good and i had to do with less money and more plants in smaller area and stuff like that.... any feed back would be greatly aprecciated. :giveflower:

breediing an L.E.D. specific strain?
Bubble man is trying to brred a strain that suits his bags best, so why not? Breeding is always to follow a certain aim.

breediing an L.E.D. specific strain?
hmm. i think iim going to try it with my 2 afghanXskunk seeds that just popped under my l.e.d.'s if one is a male.. i think l.e.d.s are pretty cool but would be better if there was a strain that has been bred over generations to be accustomed to the light.

Afghan x Skunk is a start, since you might keep plants small under leds, I've heard that one single cola might be beneficial when growing under leds, but that might depend on the technique. Basically you should look what kind of plants you would prefer personally, narrowing the input on strains possible.
I personally would look for nice small stock types, mostly IBLs. Maybe NL, Bubblegum - and some africans - but that is my personal weakness.
Then you should really grow out a bunch of them and look what plants perform best. Then you can select the best ones for further narrowing your aim - type of high, smell, pest resistance ...
Cross them, grow the offspring and select further (using the appropriate breeding techniques), keep a documentation, take keepers and evaluate your results, discard the unwanted ones.
Just a short skratch, otherwise you'll only end up with seeds that just happened to be produced under leds, not with specimens particularly selected to perform best under given conditions.

thanks for the advice man. that sounds like a better idea than mine. i dont have any more afghan x skunk, but i do have some NL x cottoncandy seeds that a friend crossed that i can throw in to the mix, most of them have grown really short and fat so i think they might work.. ? meow.

i would recomend you find the first strain that looks promising then work that one then another. science of breeding is one that starts out like a shot gun then tightens up to that of a single pin.
