Dazed & Confused
What's wrong with my seedlings?
During the beginnign of January, i germinated 6 seeds, all with success, in a moist washcloth in a dark warm closet.
After they sprouted i placed the hatchlings in a larger pot with potting soil and kept the soil moist. All six grew up approximatley 4 inches with the first set of leaves.
Then within a week of that height one by one they all droped over and are laying flat. They've remained that way up until this date Feb.1, about 2 weeks since they fell over. There not dead, they still have the green leaves and are not shriveling up, yet they remain unchanged. They not growing, sprouting new leaves, it's like they froze in time.
I've kept the soil moist. I initially only had a regular house lightbulb on them, since they were seedling. Then i switched it to a 1000w grow lamp, only keeping it on 2hours, no changes, i increased it to 6. Now i've stopped the grow lamp.
What's their problem and how do i fix it?veggiepark Reviewed by veggiepark on . Dazed & Confused What's wrong with my seedlings? they strecthed for light when none was avialable, house hold lights do nothing but makes heat for the plants, what you could do is dig them up very carefully and replant them about 2 inches from the set of leaves and continue using your 1000watt light.
if its bagseed just start over

:S2: Thank you Invasion!
I did exactly that. I replanted them deeper and the 1000w is on. 1 ? thought, how long should i keep the 1000w on? The lights pretty high off them and mylar is surrounding the walls on their space. Is 18 hrs too much?

nope 18/6 is the ideal light schedule, in about 2-3 day they should start growing again, keep the light about 2 feet from them for now.
