Mini Fridge

ok so i found a mini fridge on the curb so i took it thinking i could use it as a mom box. i went home and pluged it in and it worked for the night got down to around 30 deg C. the next day i checked on it and it didnt work as well it was at 60 deg C. then i noticed that there was a small puddle of a yellow liquid in the bottom of the freezer and it looked as though the liquid was spred on the bottom of the fridge. i also noticed an aroma kinda like old liquar. i take to a couple people and they said it was freon and to toss it. but i dont want to throw away a great little grow box. so my question is does anyone know exactly what the problem is and if i could possible fix it enough to turn it into what i want?

it is freon, a fridge is air tight so your going to have to do some major drilling for air duct but it will be light tight if you use calking on the holes.

with the freon leak will the fridge keep any cooler with the future lights in it?

Simple answer is NO. With the leak it will only get warmer and warmer as more leaks... Can you fix it? Probably be cheaper to by another small fridge from a garage sale...

you cant use a fridge to cool your grow, no air means they will die, why do you think it takes awhile before food spoils.......no air

Sure you could, as long as you implimented some sort of fresh air intake..

Hey Johnny,

Just an idea but check craigslist under the free shit. Theres plenty of stuff that can be used stealth. My buddy just grabbed a non working 35 inch console tv, needless to say hes got a grow cab now.

i had planed on putting air intake and out into the fridge but i wanted to use the fridge to keep it cool with the lights in it. i got a cab already but i need two of them so i can get a process going. i cant stand having to find a bag every couple days. it cost to fucking much and is to much trouble.
