Well, there's nothing that gets my knickers in a knot like prejudice , and by the way, the board is predominantly hard-core Christians (!) so I found it particularly repugnant coming from someone who claims to "love baby Jesus."
So I sent my own little message, saying that Jesus would be appalled by such bigotry etc, etc...and now the right wing Christians are duking it out with the Christians who accept gays! There seem to be an equal number on each side. I am relieved that not all the Christians on the site are stuck in the Old Testament, but I worry about the ones that are, and what they will be teaching their kids. To suggest that a loving gay couple is not fit to care for a foster child is disgusting. Boy, I guess I am still angry. Believe me, I have nothing against Christians per se (I was raised Catholic, and was even baptised as a Baptist when I first got sober, before eventually i found Buddhism, which seems to be a better fit for me.) But I can't help it, that holier than thou attitude makes me ill. I have many, many gay friends who would never dream of judging someone by their race, sex, religion or sexual orientation! And yet some people who claim to be so pure and Christ-like are anything but. It's really depressing.
Oh well, tomorrow I am getting some of the sacred herb - and I shall smoke it until I feel peaceful and forgiving again..

I think it is wonderful and fantastic that gay couples are fostering and adopting children that would probably otherwise be stuck in the system without knowing real love.
I feel that anybody that would love and nuture a child deserves to be able to foster and adopt.
How sad to otherwise be stuck in an "unwanted child" group home.
My husband and I paln to fill the nest with a couple of older been waiting awile children. We'd like part of their lives safe, comfortable and memorable. They'll finally have a family.

    Too bad.
    May I ask why?
    Have they done something wrong?
To be truthful, and my husband grimaces at this one but, some of the best most genuine people i have ever known, happen to be gay.
What a decent, nice, intelligent bunch of people.

Your flower is beautiful. Looks exactly like one I grew this summer. I'd show you in my av but it's much too big and I don't know how to make it smaller to fit. Right now a blow up of it is framed and on the wall. the picture turned out awesome.

That's wonderful! I can't wait until we identify and adopt our kids. We have two particular little girls in mind, but the process is still crawling along. Do you plan to adopt domestically from DSS or abroad? I wish you the best!

christians are hypocrites TRUE STORY: i was standing at a bus stop in Annapolis, about to go to work. i was wearing a pin with a red X over a crucefix. this black lady kinda tapped me on the shoulder and adked what it means and i said 'it means i dont believe in god and i dont support the institution of catholicism' and this woman got a really scared look on her face and scowled something along the lines of 'my bible says youre a fool for not believing' to which i replied 'my mind says youre a fool for believeing such lies'. well this got her very very angry and she yelled 'youre such a rude girl' and i replied 'well i find your 'god' even ruder for calling me a fool. freedom of speech means the freedom to disagree'. she said a few more things but i decided to ignore them and wait for the longest three minutes of myt life next to this woman as the bus came.
why can't we be friends? christians claim to be tolerant, warm and enlightened people but a lot of the time i find them to be angry, disapproving, stifled, unambitious folks interested only in making me feel like scum and converting me for my supposed sins. sorry, rant. you can disagree if you want. its a true story, though.
anyway, love is love. its the most primal of our instincts. and every child deserves love, no matter what shape or form. i happen to know a boy who was adopted by his lesbain aunt and her partner after his mother decided she couldt care for him. he is as well adjusted as any of us and even sometimes i think he holds an advantage when it comes to respect for diversity having an open mind.

sorry, but that's the way it is.
inside the elitist mentality of most christians there is a little man that says "you are better than anyone who doesn't believe in me". you know who that little man is, don't you? even the ones who won't say so to your face still can't help but believe that little voice.

    Thank you so much!
We haven't even started the looooong process yet but we plan to do so soon. We'd like an older child from our tri-state area. Somewhere around 5-8 years old. A child whose biggest wish is for a mom, dad and dog.
I'll stop before I get all mushy.
The best of luck and good wishes for you and you little girls! How very exciting!!!
So many children are in need of homes....love.......security, knowing that their warm bed is forever their warm bed....this is home. Every child deserves that.<3 <3 <3
