Drugs and guns?

Let's say someone has a gun, (theoretically of course ) which they own, use, and carry legally. Now that person gets caught for having a small amount of weed. Is the posession of a gun (remember, LEGAL gun) going to make the charges worse than they would be otherwise?

Dont carry a gun... dont have to worry. Ive heard bad things about having any deadly weapon with even small amounts of weed. dont give away any extra leaverage to the police.

If you have the gun on you when you are caught, and your charged with simple possession, you should be ok unless there are other aggravating factors....If your caught with weed and charged with Intent to distribute, your looking at Possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, and a felony.

if the amount of drugs is small and they view it as "personal stash" then you should be clear.

You might want to check your state and local laws. Just because the gun is legal and you have a permit to carry it, If found with narcotics the permits might then become voided. Local counties have there own rules. The area of MA I'm in I can not even fire my paintball gun in my yard. Yet if I where to goto western MA I can go out hunting.

in most cases I've seen they slap on possesion of a fire arm in whatever circumstance your in, and you dont get your gun back

you should be fine if not get a lawyer but if you are registerd to carry it, it should not be a factor just dont make the cops think you will use it cuz where i used to live in dallas they are trigger happy

IF YOU HAVE A GROW, DON'T HAVE A FIREARM ANYWHERE CLOSE TO IT.

IF YOU HAVE A STASH,, DON'T HAVE A FIREARM NEAR IT.

DON'T GIVE THE LAW ENFORCMENT ANY REASON TO DOUBT YOUR GOOD INTENTIONS.

I LIVE IN A COUNTY THAT STILL ALLOWS US TO HAVE EM IN OUR VEHICLES AND CARRY THEM IN TOWN IN HOLTSERS.

BUT I STILL DON'T KEEP ONE CLOSE TO MY ROOMS OR MY STASH AREA.
