Taxes have risen because the goverment sold off all it's assets.
Council houses are supposed to bring in revenue for councils but if they sell those houses where the fuck do they get any money from? Council Tax
The power companies that are now making massive profits once belonged to the state but were sold off for pennies because they weren't viable businesses. Yeah right, thats why they are now
posting record profits.
And of course we can't forget the army of civil servants with bullshit jobs, couple that with a massive drop in real jobs that bring in foreign trade (we manufacture fuck all anymore) and it is a recipe for disaster.
