Make a mental note to always ask for your lighter back, or decorate it in a way that you won't forget it. My girlfriend decorated a sweet one for me and I never let anyone run off with it.

He has gotten to the point where he always ends up with it regardless of who has the last hit. The other night he bummed a cigarette off of me and kept my lighter. Not much later I was going to smoke a bowl before running some errands and had the bowl packed and ready and my lighter was no where to be found.
