rookie needs advice - mom and babies are flowering

Hello all, this is my first time growing and my first time posting.

From searching through previous threads, I believe my plants entered a state of pre-flowering. I cut clones from two mothers for the the first time five days ago. Within a day or two little buds and hairs appeared on both the moms and the clones. The buds have not grown since their initial appearance.

My main concern - are the mother plants able to continue being mother plants or do they need to be replaced? Any other advice or knowledge on what is happening here will be greatly appreciated.

no worries its just preflowers, alot of plants after 30-40days of veg will show preflowers so its not a worry, in fact its a good thing.

once the 12/12 cycle starts then after a few week you will see the formation of great herb

    Hi Guero..

As long as you keep the light cycle at 18/6, your plants will stay in their vegetative cycle and continue to be GREAT mothers.

    cheers

Thanks for the good news. I'm curious, is it a coincidence the pre-flowering occurred after cloning or is there a correlation? Also, everything is under 24/0 fl with no timer right now - is it important to get this changed to 18/6?

I haven't cloned, so I don't know if there is a correlation. I use floros and did 24/0...my plants preflowered and stayed that way until I cut the lights down (except males I believe, they keep progressing even in veg). You will find that people widley disagree on how long to leave your lights on during veg. I believe Chronic Chrissy had an excerpt from a book that said the best root development is at 16/8 lighting...I can't find the link right now...grrr. But you can veg under 24/0....GL, Bree

yes i agree seedlings and clones thrive better for the few weeks on this cycle because seedlings and clones do not yet require long periods of intense light.think like this in nature when the plant sprouts usually around the last frost(march in uk ) the light in spring time is not as intense until it gets to summer right, which is a few weeks.this builds the plant up to recive intense light .think of your plant as it is in nature the closer you can get the better your results good luck:smokin: .................................................. .am i stoned PASS THE SKINS BRO
