I know people in each of the armed forces all have told me not to even think about joining, your selling your life and your basic rights away. You lose most of your rights that are stated in the bill of rights, more specificly free speech

is now wanting to go into the army... he's only 17... and he only wants to go for 2 reasons, money and to get outta my mom's house...

i feel so lost.... i can't fucking lose another brother.... i've dealt with it once... i won't deal with it again.

ok now that i'm reading back, i guess i got a bit touchy and harsh with

but i don't want to lose another brother, and i sure as hell can't/won't be able to just deal with it... he's my younger brother ffs.. i'm supposed to protect him, even from things he thinks are right...

things would be diffrent if he wanted to go because he believed in it, i wouldn't like it, and it would greatly upset me at the thought that i could lose him, but he's not going becasue he believes in it, he's signing up becasue the recruiters are putting dollar signs in his eyes, and he's going to get away from my mother.... and those facts alone are what makes it such a bad idea that i need to get sense through him....

i want to bring him here, but you know, i'm just not so sure it's going to work... we already have severe money issues... a lack of space, ect.. so i don't know what i'm going to do anymore...

becasue of my brothers funeral (this will give you an idea of just how traumatic this was on me) i will never go to another one, for any reason. i just couldn't take going through everything i went through with my other brother, all over agian..

i just don't know what to do, i feel so lost and helpless....

(bong hits, if you got banned cuz of me, i'm sorry, i wouldn't have even asked for the mods to ban you, but banning is their job and i have no control over it....)

just... what do you do when someone you care for a great deal, is making a wrong decision...

Hey Slip I don't even know your brothers name??? You need to discuss with him what you iterate here... does he know you post here??? does he have internet??? You should try hashing shit out through a forum or email cause it seems to be a way you could say things easily...

Try to convince your brother is other options out there. It's limitless what he can do. Joining the military isn't a bad thing, as long as he scores high in the ASVAB, he'll never see time in combat.

However your heart is in the right place slip and that's respectable.

You know your brother, what interests him, what makes him tick. Show him the light.

Or find some beauty to seduce him. lol.

8 hear the airforce is pretty comfortable compared to the army... i mean i know you dont want him near anything like that but if hes really set on going talk to him about that, or the navy as many have also suggested.

i dunno if this is out of the picture, but maybe get him to consider getting some room mates together and getting like part time or full time job at somewhere relatively simple.

You defend the constitution, but you dont live by it.


If there are no jobs where you live, come to California, there are a ton of jobs out here. I could get your brother a job right now with no expereince and he would make 12$ an hour. That still is alot more than a lowly private in the Army. Plus, you dont have to stop any bullets.
