Can't get a job until next year :\

And yeah, a moneyless utopia is genious. Too bad we've come too far in this world to just abolish money. You could little by little decrease inflation, but it wouldn't work. We're a buy-sell community. And bartering wouldn't work either. What would you rather do? Trade money for resources, or resources for resources?

We don't NEED money to live. It just makes it so much easier, but we've made it that we have to depend on money for a lot.

I'm so glad there aren't serious withdraw effects....But damn, this sucks.
Lucky for me I can still get weed when I don't have money.
However UNLUCKY for me my weed is locked in my boyfriends house and I accidently left my house key inside of his house. So I am about to go try and break in because I am going crazy without weed, shit it's been like 3 hours!!! AAHHHH..

It's true we don't live in a utopia. And we never will. But we still don't have any excuse for not trying to get as close as we possibly can. To previous generations, the abolition of slavery, the abolition of absolute monarchy and the abolition of institutionalized sexism would have seemed like radical utopian fantasies. I don't think society is finished progressing just yet; new concepts of justice and new forms of social relations will replace the ones we have now. I think (or at least I hope) that our increasing concern with equality, liberty and brotherhood will continue, and I am merely pointing out one direction that I think would be worth a try at some point in the future.

Unfortunately, that time is not now. Our society is not yet prepared for the abolition of money. Before the foundations of our society can be effectively changed, the people have to be convinced that change is possible and necessary. That is why we need visionaries. There will be more Martin Luther Kings, more Thomas Paines, more Henry David Thoreaus, and more Susan B. Anthonys to inspire future generations to improve society in ways that we in our ancient epoch naïvely deem impossible.
