Greenhouse Effect 'May Benefit Man'
Pro-Bush think-tank outrages eco-groups with report that denies Greenhouse Effect
http://www.gnn.tv/headlines/headline.php?id=294
Climate change is â??a mythâ??, sea levels are not rising and Britainâ??s chief scientist is â??an embarrassmentâ?? for believing catastrophe is inevitable. These are the controversial views of a new London-based think-tank that will publish a report tomorrow attacking the apocalyptic view that man-made greenhouse gases will destroy the planet.
The International Policy Network will publish its long-awaited study, claiming that the science warning of an environmental disaster caused by climate change is â??fatally flawedâ??. It will state that previous predictions of changes in sea level of a metre over the next 100 years were overestimates.
Instead, the report will say that sea level rises will reach a maximum of just 20cms during the next century, adding that global warming could, in fact, benefit mankind by increasing fish stocks.
The reportâ??s views closely mirror those held by many of President George Bushâ??s senior advisers, who have been accused of derailing attempts to reach international agreement over how to prevent climate change.
The report is set to cause controversy. The network, which has links with some of the Presidentâ??s advisers, has received cash donations from the US oil giant ExxonMobil, which has long lobbied against the climate change agenda. Exxon lists the donation as part of its â??climate change outreachâ?? programme.
Environmentalists yesterday said the network report was an attempt by American neo-conservatives to sabotage the Prime Ministerâ??s attempts to lead the world in tackling climate change.
Last week, the networkâ??s director Julian Morris attacked Britainâ??s highly respected chief scientist. â??David King is an embarrassment to himself and an embarrassment to his country.â?? He criticised preparations by Tony Blair to use his presidency of the worldâ??s most powerful nations next year to lead attempts in tackling climate change.
Morris described Blairâ??s plans to use his G8 tenure to halt global warming as â??offensiveâ??. Bush is understood to have objected to Blair placing the issue at the top of the agenda and to the robust tone of his recent speeches on climate change.
Blair, however, has garnered considerable international support for describing the issue as â??the single, biggest long-term issueâ?? facing the world. According to the network, however, his passion on the matter is not shared by the British public. A poll it commissioned claims six out of 10 Britons believe Blair should not implement the Kyoto protocol if it will harm the economy.
The executive director of the environment group Greenpeace, Stephen Tindale, said: â??Weâ??ve been watching how the network employs the same tactics as Washington neo-cons, now we know they employ some of the same people as well.
â??For years, the tobacco companies blocked action on smoking by sowing doubt about the science. Esso and its friends have done the same thing in the US on climate change and now theyâ??re busy in Britain. Global warming is the biggest threat we face, the science is certain.â??
Environmentalists believe this weekâ??s report will provoke a similar storm to that inspired by Danish statistician Bjorn Lomborg, who maintains climate change is not the greatest threat facing mankind and resources should be spent on more pressing issues, such as tackling HIV.
Tomorrowâ??s findings echo a number of Lomborgâ??s themes, as well as maintaining that â??extreme weatherâ?? is more likely caused by a natural cycle rather than man-made. It also challenges assumptions that climate change will lead to a rise in malaria along with more positive effects, such as increasing fish stocks in the north Atlantic and reducing the incidence of temperature-related deaths among vulnerable people.
Morris admitted receiving money from a number of companies, including $50,000 from Exxon, but denied the organisation was a front for neo-conservative opinion. â??I have written about these issues for many years. If a company wants to provide money, then Iâ??d be happy to accept it.â??
He added that his $1 million budget is small compared to those of international groups, such as Greenpeace and Friends of the Earth.

Greenhouse Effect 'May Benefit Man'
It's funny how people are in such a state of denial about global warming. Every winter in Montreal, there's less and less snow, and it begins later and later. When I was a kid, 6-7 years old, there was already about 1 foot of snow on the ground at Christmas. These past few years, it hasn't really snowed until January comes by.... It really frightens me...

Order out of Chaos
Global Warming is a LIE! We are in the beginning stages of the next Ice Age.
by William Cooper
Veritas News Service - Exclusive, January 17, 2001 -- When I was in the Navy attached to the Intelligence Briefing Team of Admiral Bernard Clarey, then CINCPACFLT, a Top Secret government scientific report surfaced claiming that we were then in the beginning stages of the next ice age. The report was classified at such a high level due to the implications for the civilian populations of the higher latitudes.
Concerned scientists began warning us as far back as the early 1970's despite government disapproval. And I revealed the contents of the report that I had seen beginning in 1988 during my lectures, and again in my book Behold A Pale Horse which was published in December of 1991. Global warming is a bold faced lie serving a Marxist political agenda.
The history of the world's weather patterns are recorded in trees, rocks, glacial deposits, lakes, the ocean depths, and in the ice caps at both poles. Scientists have figured out how to read this history and its message is unmistakable. The evidence tells us that the world weather cycles are regular, predictable, and dependable. The evidence tells us that we are already in the beginning stages of the next ice age.
Every cycle consists of accelerating cold culminating in what has become known as an ice age immediately followed by warming known as an interglacial period. Scientists have discovered that there have been 7 ice ages and 7 interglacial periods over the last 800,000 years. Each Ice Age lasted for 100,000 years give or take a few thousand, and each interglacial warming period has lasted from 10,000 to 12,000 years only. According to this evidence, which in some cases is literally written in stone, we may be a thousand years overdue for an ice age. But that's not all.
The earth's record tells us that the level of CO2 has played a decisive roll in deciding the onslaught of an ice age, and it is exactly the opposite effect of what the global warming con-artists have asked us to believe. Scientists have discovered that every time in history that the carbon dioxide (CO2) content of the atmosphere has exceeded 290 parts per million an ice age has occurred without fail. The level of CO2 in the earths atmosphere currently exceeds 360 parts per million. The level of CO2 in the atmosphere also tells us that we are overdue for an ice age. But that's not all.
The true statistics taken by those who conduct legitimate research at the poles tell us that the ice caps are not shrinking but growing. The official numbers coming from Alaska and from the Canadian government scientists tell us that glaciers are not melting but getting larger. The temperature readings of the atmosphere taken by satellites tell us that the atmosphere is not warming but cooling. But that's not all.
It has recently been discovered that the figures touted in support of global warming were intentionally computed in a manner that inflated the statistics by as much as 40% in error. It has also been revealed that much of the data in support of global warming has been taken from large cities and populated areas where concrete captures and holds heat from the sun giving false inflated data. Temperature readings taken from remote rural areas confirm the satellite readings. And this winter record cold has surfaced everywhere toppling official records around the globe.
Legitimate scientists have been warning us that an ice age cometh since the early 70's. Any intelligent person who examines the data without any other agenda than an objective assessment of future weather patterns will reach the same conclusion. We are in the beginning stages of the next ice age and there isn't anything whatsoever that we can do to stop it... so we had damn well better get ready.
According to history the temperature will creep lower, very slowly, year by year, over thousands of years until the higher latitudes are covered with ice in the form of glaciers. Most of the food producing land in those same latitudes will become inhospitable, unproductive, and for the most part uninhabitable.
The United States government classified the report that I read as Top Secret because they did not know what to do about it then, and they do not know what to do about it now. In the face of an ever increasing world population the problem seems insurmountable. Is it? Are we helpless against the forces of nature? What, if anything, can we do to prepare for the inevitable?
Promoting the hoax of global warming in order to increase government control, and especially global government control, to delay dealing with the problem is not an answer, but guaranteed disaster... on a scale that I don't even want to think about. How about you? Are you finally ready to face the facts and deal with this problem, or will we continue in the lie in the interest of a massive global reduction in population?
The Marxist agenda of the new world order calls for a massive reduction in the world's population. An ice age, for which no one is prepared, is guaranteed to do the job. And that is the true purpose of the lie known as global warming.

Let's not forget antarctica used to be a lush jungle environment millions of years ago. Earth changes; just because it's happening in our lifetime doesn't mean we are to blame. Humans pump out about 3% of the total CO2 emissions. The other 97 is from biogas etc."A poll claims six out of 10 Britons believe Blair should not implement the Kyoto protocol if it will harm the economy". Damn right. I enjoy living in a free market."The Marxist agenda of the new world order calls for a massive reduction in the world's population. I guess you are refereing to the article about the ice age?, it is clearly not my explanation as it was writtern by William Cooper.
I originally posted the article Greenhouse Effect 'May Benefit Man' and then came across the article 'Global Warming is a LIE! We are in the beginning stages of the next Ice Age. ' which throws a completely different spin on it. Its about that simple.
