Canada and those safe, safe Canadians

I usually end up typing way too much when writing a story so i'll try and keep this brief.

I went travelling with my best mate last year in my gap year. We went to Japan, Australia, New Zealand and Canada in that order. We decided to stay away from bud in Japan and Australia as the laws arn't too laid back, plus we were travelling alone and didn't wanna get fucked up. We get a little tokage in New Zealand but kiwi's are more hard-assed then I thought when it comes to getting green .

So Canada, or 'the REAL land of the free' as I like to call it. Not only were we offered bud 4-5 times in a row as soon as we set foot in Vancouver but also got so much respect as travellers we were handed it for free half the time throughout our 3 week stay anyway.

Jericho Beach. A huge scottish bloke asks me for some rolling papers. The next thing you know we're sitting out under the stars with a plastic bag full of 3 oz's rolling jay after jay. He tells me and my mate about the crack addicts of Vancouver and how he likes to travel from country to country selling bud along the way to pay for his tickets. Legend.

Jasper. We ask a passer by if he knows where to get bud. He pulls out a joint and says 'cant help ya but i'll smoke you up right now if you want?'. We have 3 joints of the best weed i've ever smoked in the middle of the street by the mile long trains that travel through the rockies. While we're cotching, some random gangster looking brer's bounce up and ask us if we 'freestyle'. "Nope, but do you have any draw to sell?" He takes out a tens, leaves it on the bench and walks off. Legend.

Banff. We hook up with the K crew for Canada day. "Banff's biggest gang" (or "little kids with way too much energy". We hang out with them for a few days. On the day we leave they give me and my friend a quarter each for 10 dollars.

On our moose tour we hook up with a guy who pretty much WAS Tommy Chong and our bus driver to toke up a few in the middle of the woods around a fire. While we get rocked and make amazing conversation, cinematic orchestra playing on the portable speaker system, the rest of our bus group sit rigid and terrified by our drug use. You should've seen their faces when I asked if they wanted any :rastasmoke: !

Finally, we still have an 8th each and decide to repay the kindness we received from Canada on our last day in Vancouver. We roll up dozens of little joints and hand them out to all the hipsters and stoner types we see on our night out. I've never shaken so many hands in one night. Even got a "god bless you kind sir" from a Chrisitan stoner.

One stoned movie and an incredibly safe visit from the cops later and we're back in England spreading the word of the greatest place on earth. Did I mention we were security checked 5 times during our transfer at Los Angeles airport on the way?

So Canada, this one's for you :jointsmile: !

Yes Canada is great, I'm glad I was born here I don't even have much of the urge to travel elsewhere, I wanna expolre my great country first

Me too man, i think traveling would be sweet and i want to go backpacking in Europe sometimes. But first i would like to drive across Canada, that would be awesome.:thumbsup:

Joints are smoked quite freely in these parts. You see people tokin doobs all the time down by the beach. As long as you don't cause trouble and don't make the joint smoking too obvious, no one really bothers you.
