Green dragon help
Hi all, long time no see.
I am of the understanding that Cannabis needs to be heated to a cirtain temp to activate the THC, saying that i have made a green dragon with 750ml of 96% alcohole that i distiled myself, and to this i added 1/4 oz of good quality bud without heating it as i didnt want to lose any of the THC due to evaporation. Now if it is true that THC needs to be activated via heating will boiling this mixture for a few seconds be enough to avtivate it? as i dont want too much of the alcohole to evaporate.
Thanks for your help :jointsmile:MullManiac Reviewed by MullManiac on . Green dragon help Hi all, long time no see. Green dragon help
how i do it is put 1 bottle of home made wine in a large pot that has a lid.
put a glass in the center of pot with a few buds in it. turn on the stove, when the wine starts to boil (which is quick cuz its alcohol) cover the pot with its lid but put the lid on upside down and pour ice in the lid to cool the alcohol on the dome.
the alcohol will collect in the center of the domethen drip into the glass it will allready be hot and will drip onto the bud extracting the THC. When about 15 minutes wirth of boing is up you can turn off the stove and remove the glass(caution glass will be hot) take out the buds and enjoy your new drink.
I can post MY home made wine recipie if wanted. will make 3 gallons in 3 weeks.I do not condone the illegal use of any substance. I do not grow marijuana however the posts I place here are for informational purposes only nothing more nothing less.

Green dragon help
Do you make your wine from grapes/fruit or do you buy grape extracts? i've made a bit of wine before but i'm more into the homemade beer and spirits.
Thanks for the tip, so just the heat from boiling wine is enough to activate the THC then?

Green dragon help
Yes, the recipe of green dragon in this forum is very good. It really works.
Anyway, answering your question about the thc activation: the boiling point of thc is about 200 C, while the boiling point of alcohol is 78 C. So, even if you heat the alcoholic solution of thc until the alcohol boils, the thc will not be lost by evaporation.
BUT, the temperature for activation of thc (im assuming youre talking about the decarboxylation) is 105 C, greater then alcohol's boiling point, so if you want activate it, you must do it before mixing it with the alcohol.
Look at the recipe of green dragon at the sticky thread. There everything is very well explained.
And good luck!
