Chronic Chrissy Reviewed by Chronic Chrissy on . HELP! which is which?! Afghani/Northern lights I know this has been asked a million times, but this time I know it is one or the other and you get to tell me if I have it WRONG or RIGHT. As you can see through my link in my sig I am growing Afghani and Northern lights. My buddy says he is very sure that I have it right but with a little research I am finding it seems I have it wrong. I want to believe my buddy cause he is so sure but I don't know anymore. I don't care whose right I just want to be properly informed. Additional info As Rating: 5

HELP! which is which?! Afghani/Northern lights

Ok. So we are 18 days into flower and budding quite nicely. I have notice that what I have been calling Afghani has very visable crystals and is more stretched yet full of bud all the way down. What I call northerns have crystals that are more like tiny hairs, and has nice fat buds up at the tip.
I will admit that I am slowly being convinced, and am more open to the idea of having it wrong because I am enjoying growing both and will continue to keep both strains cycling through.

So I ask again for opinions pictures and characteristics. And I'll have everything I know about the differences between these two strains asap.

    OK I'm breaking this down

    Afghani

    -tall
    -lanky
-stretched just enough to allow light
-large leaves with long skinny blades
    -lighter green than my northerns
    -thinner stalk
-Bud with lots of crystal, frosty
-buds go all the way down the stem
-bud smells like fresh moist veg like when I worked in a greenhouse, smell it upstairs
    -clones in 2 weeks

    Northerns

    -Short
    -bushy
    -compact shading itself
    -Large leaves with fat blades
    -darker green
    -Thick stalk
    -Bud has fine hairlike crystals
-Buds are fat at the tips, and at internodes
-Buds have very faint pine smell, only when pinched
    -Clones in one week.

So GaGrown which is which, am I right or switch them in response to the bud aspect. Your pic looks like my aff

What did you have her under before the 600? Mine have 3-4 main colas and it just about the same bud as yours at 18 days flower, 54 days old. but they've been under 400's the whole time and have 4 flouro tubes for sidelighting.

HELP! which is which?! Afghani/Northern lights

based on your description it sound like you have them backwards as the northern lights should be slighly taller or lanky, lighter green leaves when compared to the afghani and have slightly thinner leaves as this tells you wich plant has some sativa in its makeup while in most cases it has very little sativa its still mostly indica but can vary quite abit from one seed breeder to another.
the afghani should be shorter with dark green and wide leaves.
