    flower with flouros?

this is my first indoor grow, not my first, and i started a seedling under two 10" circular bulb flourescents that a friend let me try out...why not right? well its growing really fast, about a foot and a half to two feet so far and has a nice lush dark green color with visible resin glands even on fan leaves. im a little short on cash now but when i am done vegging the plant i should have the funds for a sufficient hps light for flowering. my question is...if need be..is if anyone would have any kind of idea as to what would be expected if i had to flower with the same light.. potency, yeild...anyone with any advice would be appreciated.

the potency will probably not be affected, but yield will be drasticaly decreased without an hps.

Im going to be flowering with two 40 watt "natural wide spectrum sunlight" bulbs. I hope this will be enough for 2-3 ak-48 females. Im am going to purchase some mylar to reflect light better. Do you think this will be sufficient for geting a few ounces?

    Howdy wbs5150,

Are you saying, that you have 2, 4 foot long shop lights with 2 40 watt bulbs each,or is it just 1 shop light with 2, 40 watt bulbs ..or what ? With the lighting that you have, you'll be lucky to git one ounce out of all your plants total. You need to add at least 300 watts of hps,if you want to git anywhere near what you're hoping for. The floros are just enough to maintain vegetative growth, not enough to git a good yield of bud. If you can add an hps,you should reposition the floros to where they can help the lower parts of the plants..with the hps on top,at least 18 inches above the plants at all times as they grow.

I have two 40 watt natural sunlight fluoro's for flowering. Should I look for something higher wattage? Money is an issue also look at this http://www.overgrow.com/edge/showthread.php?t=21575. Maybe I could double my set up and buy another light fixture and two more 40 watt bulbs. It was only 26 bucks and I only want to grow 2-3 ladies at a time.

i have seen very good results when it comes to fluoros but only when they have close to 250watts + i.e warm white fluoros which promote a flowering response an also the eco-lite 200w compact fluoro looks very gd...

    Howdy wbs5150,

Wow..I'm amazed that the feller is gitting such good results from so little light ! Ther's no doubt, the more light that you give em,the better your results will be, in density, yield and trichome production.
