Hmmm. I see why you had some trouble with geography class. Japan is a smaller geographical area than America--much smaller. And it has a smaller population, too, although by comparison, there are a whole lot more people crowded onto their island land mass. America has about 300 million people, and Japan's population is closer to 126 million. If you're thinking about Asian countries with immense populations, you might be thinking of China, which has about 1.3 billion people. They outnumber us all--and anyone who doesn't like Asians is indeed going to be in trouble because China and India are soon going to be out-businessing and out-"technologying" us all. In many ways, they already are.

My question to those of you who think a response like TAG's was justified is since when is a response like that ever justified, particularly to a perfect stranger and even if that stranger is making a seemingly weird request? If it were worded differently and not so rudely, it would have been a perfectly OK statement. But it wasn't.

(a rant) Today, at the station waiting for my train, I'm standing on the semi crowded platform minding my own business, head in the clouds, when a girl, who's sitting on the ground a few metres in front of me turns around and mumbles something. I didn't hear her but she was looking at me, so I took a few steps forward, leaned down and said, "Sorry, I didn't catch that." and she says, "Can you _not_ stand behind me? I don't like people standing behind me." I looked at her in confused disbelief and then Rating: 5
