    Closet growing thread.

Firt closet grow. I use to run a 150w hps cabinet. I'm breaking that space confine. This is my recent grow in entirety from start. It was posted in my 150 cab thread, but i'm retiring that thread since ive expanded to a closet grow. Most of the things used, are rehashed and scavanged from the cab. I still have the cab incase I need it for the future, but for now parts are best served elsewhere.

(see signature for cab link, and thank you to all who've read and or contributed. i would have never dreamed i'd ever have close to 9k hits on that post nor such positive feedback! you guys here at cannabis.com do rock!)

Most of the items are recycled items as well so the cost was very minimal. This should list most things seen or used. Any q's on items i'll try to elaborate on if asked. My whole goal is the MOST bang for the LEAST buck,
or there abouts and as minimal a sacrife to A++ quality possible... on the least amount of wattage as I can get away with. My advice is/has/always will be grow to your enviroment as conditions and space allow. The plants tell you what they need, if they like or dislike what your giving them, and this closet is just as versitile and adaptable as the cabinet EVER was. Everything pulls down and conceals in under 15 mins... pro'lly less than 10. Could do it in 5 w/ proper motivation.

I use to post on overgrow ( gotta give a shout out for my roots, and good roots = strong growth eh? ), and alot of the pics on my cabinet thread are also rehashed images of past grows from when they got shut down and I moved on to here. How fitting. New thread on cannabis.com... 100% new cannabis.com only pics for a new thread for a new frontier for a new year.

A beautifully green growing closet of plants, priceless

    Germination:
Take the sterilite container, and place two holes in the side at the top and at the bottom on both sides of the container. Cut some string and rig the wood dowls so that they are fastened extra tight and securely on the container. I used a hot knife to cute away notches along the side of the container the dowls fit firmly into before even tying. Run a piece of string and tie onto the top of the dowls. Hang 1 clip light from the string w/ 6" aprox between light and where cups will sit. Instant nursery w/ light. Toss one 26 watt CFL in. Cut 5-10 slits into the bottom of styrofoam cups. Add soil. Moisten and let drain. Add seeds. Dampen slightly. Place cups into your newly made nursery. Wrap LOSELY with aluminium foil ( concentrate light, keep warmth up for seeds to germ ).

    Keep moist.

When Seeds emerge, unwrap aluminium, switch to 46 watt CFL.

    Seedling:
Allow 5-7 blade leaves form (aprox 3-4 internodes from emronic leaves), transplant to 6" pots. Feed Dyna Grow @ 1 capfull per gallon. 1-2 drops superthrive per gallon.

    Vegative growth:
Allow growth until necrotic signs begin on lowermost leaves, this indicates beginnings of rootbound/nute lock condition. Transplant to 3 gallon bucket. You should have a solid rootball. Feed Dynagrow @ 1 capfull per gallon. 1-2 drops superthrive per gallon. Add 1-2 46 watt CFLs. 1-2 weeks later, add remaining CFLs.

    Flowering:
Aprox 1 1/2 mo veg, 12/12. HPS on (Clip lower most branches and fans that have yet to fall off (usually a lil cruddy looking by now. This is a natural process, plants lose older leaves in nature all the time). Clipping lower branches is to reduce spindly lower level growth. Plants feed DynaGrow @ 1 capfull per gallon EVERY watering. If plant begins to show signs of burn (rare - brown tips, crunchy like leaves, straight water for 3 feeding cycles).

    Harvest:
Breeder spec. +/- few days. Eyeball. You can tell when they're ripe and in full sinsemillia condition.

Thoughts: I'll see at the end of this grow... But im honestly considering buying a 250w, i think 400 is overkill for my purposes and the heat of a 250 is less siginficant than that of a 400. Also, lumens per watt would be about equal to my 150 + CFLs now, less wattage, and more penetration to lower nodes. A 400 watt however, while nutting in my pants over thoughts of potential, is an expense both in purchase and in operation that I'd prefer to avoid. While shelling out the money for the lamp itself seems redundant, over 2-3 grows, the $ saved in electricity alone will have paid
for itself... Plus, not only am I working on tripling my previous harvests, doing so spending less on electricity for the same lumens plus a higher intensity of light is a good thing... God damnit I keep talking myself into buying a new light. I think the plants are telling me they want it to. That they can handle it... Maybe ive just smoked too much pot, but in this mannor of growing i employ, its like the plants talk to me! I'm going nuts. They tell me when I gaze at em they want more light. But another possibility is its my subconcious self trying to justify buying yet more equipment when
I grow damn good weed as is. Eh, regardless... Debates like this wouldnt take place in my mind if I could just run to the local exxon and buy a pack of 20 grade a dubies in a hardpack box and a pack of matches.........

This post will serve as my grow log now..........

    Closet growing thread.

wanna say its about day 25 flowering. i dont remember wehn i flipped the lights so im going by picture dates, ill consider 1/7 day 1 flower or so.

had to do a lil sniping to lower growth, and to some upper growth.

plants are taller than expected, i remember cali-o growing like a weed last time i grew this strain as well. tops were getting burned that were growing into the light. the one plant managed to keep its top, they're about 4ft :P

last pic is a random bud, shitty quality pic. my bad.

I love it. The difference a good unit makes vs a cheaply made one. I love the o3 generator! So much im even considering a stinkier ak47 grow down the road. :lovestruck:
