    some help please

these were started from bag seed on the 12th of this month. yesterday around mid afternoon (approx. 5:00 PM) i fed them with a little Fox Farm grow big 6-4-4. at the time i fed them they looked fine, no discoloration. i havnt water or check on them till a few mins ago (approx. 6:00 pm). the first one was going the strongest and looked the healthiest up until i checked on it today. the second one has been the runt since day one and the leaves on it have been droopy like that also. i thought it might be from over watering, the leaves were and still are nice and green. the third one has been all crooked looking since day one. anyone have any suggestions? or can tell me how they are looking so far? also i transfered the 2nd and 3rd one into those spare pots there in the picture, wondering if it was too early? thats why i havnt transfered the 1st one, just wanted to wait and see how they would react before transferring the strongest one. thanks

    some help please

I could be wrong but in the first pic that leaf pointing to 10 oclock looks a little burnt. To me it just looks like overwatering. I do have some info for you regaurding plant size vs root size. Your plants roots should be the same size as your plant. So if your plant is about an inche bigger than you pot at that stage it may be time to transplant but you could wait a little longer. You want a nice compact root ball with out your plant becoming root bound. and when you transplant them to early the roots spread out because they have space, thus bypassing and wasting space that will be much needed later on.

IMHO your bigger plant can go a little bit longer before bing transplanted and that means the little ones could go even longer. Don't change them back now though, they're small so it's not a big deal, but I like to teach so now you know.

The other thing to is that plants don't like to always be wet, they grow very well with dry periods. A good judge of when to water is to stick your finger an inch into the soil. if it's still moist leave it alone, if it' dry then your ok the lower you go the more moisture so your plants are fine if just the top is dry, but this is a great time to water. Also pay attention to how heavy the pot feels because after a while you'll learn by the weight of the pot whether or not it needs watering.

Chin up buddy your plants should be better in a day or two.

5 pm! Don't you know you're never supposed to start plants at the cocktail hour unless you give them a cocktail. They look a very dark green...like too much nitrogen....but that could be the lighting of your photo.

PS That's a joke about the planting time....you're the only that I have ever seen list the actual TIME of planting.
