Reggae music recommendations? After hearing Start the Fire by No Doubt (yeah, eat me.), I've realized that I want to start listening to reggae music. The thing is though, is that I can't stand the Jamaican accent... so are there any reggae-influenced bands/artists that don't have a Jamaican accent?

Reggae music recommendations? For sure, to like reggae you pretty much gotta live with the accents. Even non-Jamaican singers will usually fake a Jamaican accent when they're singing reggae.

In terms of good reggae, of course there's Bob Marley, then there's Steel Pulse, Third World, UB-40, Eek-a-Mouse (i'm not a huge fan, but everyone has different tastes), Jimmy Cliff, etc. etc. etc.

And if you absolutely have to listen to hardcore old school roots reggae then there's always Burning Spear.

Reggae music recommendations?lol reggae is amazing........The jamaican accent is great too....Some reggae artists don't have the accent when they sing as much as they do when thay talk......... Look for Gyptian, Sizzla, Jah Cure, I wayne, Bounty Killer, Beenie Man, Vybz Kartel, Movado, and Wayne Wonder, there's a lot more. If you don't like the jamaican accent, you don't like reggae.......and that other shit you speak of is not reggae.............
