blueray technology is a scam?!?!?! are you retarded?!? have you even watched anything on blueray?? better yet have you watched anything on blueray on a 1080p hd tv set??? i own one and it blows eveything out of the water! including hd dvd. blue ray is the only format that offers full 1080p hd. ps3 is an ultimate entertainment system that will blow away anything else. once the programmers finally tap into what the ps3 can truely accomplish it will blow away xbox 360(graphic wise).

for less money go with the xbox 360 it a badass system. it has more games, only because it was released a year earlier and is easier to program for. its online gaming is better.

for the most fun, roll with a wii. this system is kick ass fun. i play it more then i play both my ps3 or my xbox 360. but you gotta upgrade the video component cable if you want the graphics to look better then your old sega genesis on a 19 inch tv. that upgraded cable make the graphics 1000X better. it has outsold the other systems and hopefuly will have better games for it in the future. i cant wait until they finally upgrade this badassed machined with at least 1080i hd.

i really like all three systems but i am having alot more fun with the wii.

heres the skinny.... i agree with station fo sho.... get a 360 so badass if u get one i recommend Call Of Duty 3 is like the best game out in my opinoin and Gears of war.... besides who can wait for Halo 3? and the graphics? need i say more? :thumbsup:

ill admit that rite now the 360 blows the ps3 out of the water... cheaper games cheaper consolelots of things.. but the 360 has been out for about a year so give the ps3 a good few months and the 360 will be nothing compared to it.

I'm totally unconvinced by Blueray. To me it seems they're rushing it out, trying to make it big and mainstream way too fast. The discs are expensive as hell. I havn't had the pleasure of experiencing it in a living room, just a demo in a shop, but I noticed barely any difference between that and a high-quality DVD player on a good TV.

I find the addition of Blueray takes the PS franchise well away from one of Sony's main audiences, kids and teenagers. I know I can't afford a PS3, let alone the right TV AND still have enough cash leftover to buy the £50 games and £30 Bluerays. Who the fuck can afford that?

Anyway, one day i'll be able to experience a proper PS3 night, maybe if I meet a big executive that's into games, and i'll be convinced.

ummm, you may wanna go have your glasses/contact prescription checked. same goes for hd-dvd vs dvd. the max res on a dvd is 480p (640x480), whereas the other two can do 1080p (1920x1080), more than twice the resolution. maybe on an upscaling dvd player you wouldn't notice much difference, but standard def vs HD...really? ever use a photoshop type program and blow up a small picture to look bigger? notice how it gets all fuzzy and crappy looking? well that's what's happening with dvd picture on a tv screen, HD content doesn't have to be blown up, it's already that big. for an example of what i jsut described (blowing up an image vs higher resolution image), compare the following pics: DVD
and HD-DVD/Blu-ray
you can also try setting your monitor resolution to 640x480 and looking at the difference between that and your monitor's highest setting (1024x768, 1280x1024, 1600x1200, whatever)

I understand how it's supposed to work, i've read about all the technical bollocks and special numbers that mean good things. I just really don't see a big enough difference to get worked up about, particularly when it means replacing the 300 DVDs in your collection for, what would amount to, £9000.
