alright. so i havent been able to get to a computer for a bit. but heres a little update.
i soaked the 3 seeds in water.
2 of them made it. the 3rd stopped growing.
so out of the 2 seeds that did grow, they are looking nice.
the shells opened up and each seed has one root about an inch long
i planted both seeds in seperate paper cups with some regular soil.
no sprouting yet. but hopefully soon.

Hi, I will be glad to share with you. I am on my 1st grow and don't think I am an expert, but I have learned a lot.
So you have two seeds sprouting. What type of light are you using?
I Assume cups are small and you need a larger container to start with. I think.
What type of soil are you using? What is regular? Is it from the ground?
Are you looking at ph?
What is a "bag o' dank?" Is that bad stuff?
I will talk about this with you, and I need more information about what you are doing.
I will be looking back here to respond.
Good Luck on your grow.

i'm also starting my first grow. and i'm also using paper cups to start off with... my seeds are just getting their roots in, but i was wondering if anyone has easy quick tips to do in order to make my plant turn out good. i've been waterin it a little bit each day and leaving it infront of my window for light. i know in order to get good stuff i need artificial light, but i don't have any.. is this a big problem? will i still be able to grow my plant and have it produce buds??

Hay Les Paul,
I am also on my first grow, but I have studied it a lot.
You can get flourescent lights from wal-mart for under $20.00. I think you will need more powerful lights for the bud growth.
Can you grow it outside when it is big enough?
Also, I would suggest that you buy some soil from the store that is the proper ph. Maybe even a little "grow big" fertilizer.
I hope this helps.

yes, it will be a problem, u will notice that your seedilings will streatch for the light they want, they need alot of light but not that much at all, they just need contsant light that u cannot give them from a window. one fluouro will help this and u could potentially transplant it to outside when it gets warmer, but any frosts may kill it so plan ahead.

thanks rah and jack... yes, i am plannin on moving it outdoors when it gets warmer.. i live in michigan, so it may be another month or 2.. but since light is a big deal, i guess i'll check out one of those cheap ones if that'll do the trick, also i know soil is cheap, so i'll get some of that stuff too.. does it say on the bag if it has a good PH level??? also, once i move it outside how will i need to tend it then?? would i need to water it everyday and stuff?

Hi Les Paul,
I am only growing indoors, so I don't know much about outside.
The flourescent lights will get the plants up to a foot or more. Then it seems you could plant outside if the weather is not too cold.
The bag of soil usually has the ph written on it somewhere. You want it to be between 6.5 and 7.0.
I have a vegetable garden and when I want to know if my tomatoes need water, I reach down into the soil with my hand and grab a handfull and squeeze it. If it sticks together I do not water. If it crumbles I water. Maybe if it is about to crumble or is drying out, I may water then also.
When the plants are in a pot, I pick up the pot and see how heavy it is. When it needs water it is light, and when it has plenty of water it is heavy. I pick up my pots or tip them to see how heavy they are then I decide to water or not.
Remember, I am on my first grow also and am learning a lot. I hope I am giving you good information.
I will be checking back.
I am having a problem trying to figure if my seedlings are male or female. Do you know anything about that?

awesome... thanks for the help rah, i think i'll go shoppin in a few days over to walmart and pick up a light and look for some soil, and sry i can't help about the seedlings.. i'm not too sure about how to tell the diffrence between males and females, but one more question...
i'm still in a house with my parents right now, and as of now, my plant stays infront of my sisters window in her room since nobody goes in there... once i get my light, do you know of any good ways to make my own little growing box??? i was thinking about lining tin foil in a big box, and putting the light and plant in there... then putting the whole box up in my barn loft since nobody goes up there, then they wouldn't be able to see the light since it's in a box and get curious.... is this a bad idea??? cuz i'm not sure if the light will get too hot and start a fire...., if a cardboard box with tin foil won't do the trick, do you have any ideas that might work??? cuz im thinkin im gonna have to think of something fast to get light to it...

Hi Les Paul,
Too bad you have to hide your grow from people. That's just the way it is I guess.
I am including a pic of my set up. It hangs from a chain, which I can raise as the plants grow. I have a two foot flourescent light inside. The light is mounted to a board and the chain is mounted to the board. I wrap it up in the shiny stuff to help reflect light back to the plants and keep them warm.
Also, I have a heating pad under the plants to keep the soil warm. This is important if you have really cold weather. I put a planter tray under the plants and on top of the heating pad to keep water off the heating pad which is electric.
The heading pad, I got from the nursury and it cost about $15. The shiny stuff I bought by the foot(several dollars).
I hope this information helps.
rah
