That IS fucked up. Why does it matter to them what you do on your own time? I would even argue that they shouldnt care if you show up to school high off whatever. A university degree is a university degree, if you are able to achieve one while being stoned all the time- all the better to you.

I feel this inexplicable urge to go on an American bashing rampage right now...but I am not certain that this doesn't exist in Canada. Regardless, that is FUCKED UP!

My school used to have a policy where drug use was only punished or investigated if one was intoxicated on school property... now, keep in mind that my "school" is a graduate program at a large university. We are all adults with college degrees. But, now we can be punished (including dismissal) for offenses committed OFF-CAMPUS, in the privacy of our own homes, even when we are not at school! And, any misdemeanor crime *can* (but not necessarily will) be cited by the administration in Rating: 5
