In my experience most women prefer something that can fill them up. Too big can be bad, because it can be painful, but everyone is shaped differently.

I've been with girls who I had to be careful with because it was too much. Even though I know I'm pretty big I know I'm not huge. I read a study of thousands of women (conducted by women) and found that a certain cross of length and width is favored, but the majority of women don't want the biggest one, they just want one that is "just right". Definitely not average, but between average and very large. Thanking my ancestors, because no one can help the way they are.
