is it democracy when.....
World opinion is against the U.S. escalation in Iraq. The American people are against it. The Congress is against it. The Iraqi people are against it.
The Iraqi government is against it.
Can a single 'man" force a nation to fight a war it does not want to fight, expand a war it does not want to expand ? If he can, is that nation any longer a democracy in any meaningful sense ?
Didnt Saddam think he could do what he wanted too regardless of world opinion? And wasnt it the USA who said......"the world has spoken?" before we invavded, set up a puppet government, and occupied a foreign nation?
It seems as though bush has taken the same path as hitler, saddam and others, in the sense that t(he)y thought t(he)y could do what they wanted without concern for the rest of the worlds opinion or permission.

Very sad and pretty true. The real problem is that about half of the country was behind the idea of the war. You know why? Bush was preying on peoples fear of terrorists and made people feel like the war would prevent another 9/11. Now people are realizing that he was full of it, and no one seems to be happy with the administration at the moment. I hope it's one of those history lessons that we can learn from now and not 30 years from now in a history book.

So you consider 12 million people out of 18 milliion going out to vote, risking their lives in the process a puppet government? UNREAL!
By the way daima.......this is political and I think you just may be intelligent enough to have figured that out. In the future when you decide to post this type of agenda in the lounge it will be deleted. There is a reason why we have 40 different forums with over 70 different sub-forums.

Bush: 'I'm the decision-maker' in Iraq troops
Bush is supposed to be a puppet for and by the people. When he chooses to not listen to the majority, he destroys the true sense of democracy. The man needs to stop cherry picking what laws, national and/or international, he wants to follow. Bush and Amadidajad(sp) have both shown they will not listen to there own governments.
What will it take to get this man to listen to us if congress keeps passing laws without teeth? Riots like they had recently in France?

How did this become "my agenda"?
does p4b feel cornered so he lashes out with threats of censorship because of a pretty basic question he doesnt like?
I will tell you this...
for a person who has to hide smoking a plant from a government he has a crush on, you seem silly in your remarks and suggestions.
What is it in my post that outrages you to the point you threaten to ease it?
you keep that up and the only people you will find in the forum are those who are willing to kiss your ass, and that doesnt look like many.
Now go inflate your gw blow up doll and release some of that stress.
whisper in its ear, i love you". That should make you both feel special.

While I understand the personal attacks part of the rules. Diama's comments really didn't seem any worse then what Bong30 has been doing in almost all his replies. Can I not say that "Dumb lib" is a personal insult? And you yourself have said "If you can't take the heat, get out of the politics forum."
