Dog dies after eating cannabis. All right I completely apologize for being such a COMPLETE dick in my previous post....but I stand by my information. Sorry about the psycho episode you guys.....it just gets to me to hear the same misinfo over and over. Weedhound Reviewed by Weedhound on . Dog dies after eating cannabis. Puppy Dies After Eating Abandoned Drugs Stash I think this is a misleading story as IMO the cannabis itself wouldn't be capable of killing an animal. My thoughts are that it can only have been caused by the baggy, plastic can have sharp edges and it is possible that a thick baggy could damage the lining of the intestines. What do you folks think ? Dog dies after eating cannabis.it is actually possible for an animal to o/d on weed, my mate made a bowl up of around 1/4lb of various weeds (this was about 13 years ago), he left it in his windowsill because it was all too sticky to smoke fackin up the skins everytime he tried to roll one hehe. anyways the not so funny part is he lost his 3 week old kitten. couldnt find it anywhere till he went and cheked on his weed and found the kitten dead on his windowsill and no weed left. (sad story but just so you all know it's possible) granted i doubt a dog could die from it, even a puppy, theyre massive compared to tiny kittens.

stranger things have happened i guess.

the cat i had when i was living in leeds (smudge, i had to leave him there cos my ex wouldnt let me take him...grrr), used to have a bud every time i had a spliff, he'd go nuts for it, rolling around like he was catgasming over some catnip. gotta love the hippy cats!

Dog dies after eating cannabis.Notice how it doesn't say how big the brick was. Unless I missed that bit. No matter what research has been done, I get the feeling I'd probably die if I scoffed a whole soap bar at once.

Dog dies after eating cannabis.Writing in block capitals doesn't give your bullshit any more credibility, in fact it has the opposite effect. I'd advise people to look it up on the internet as well, to confirm that you are completely wrong. Cannabis is not toxic to any species of mammal. In fact it's remarkable in that respect because this absence of toxicity is almost unique amongst any pharmaceuticals. If you've been treating animals brought in because they've consumed cannabis, and they've died, then it's more than likely your own treatment that's to blame, indicating that you seem better equipped to work in a slaughterhouse than a veterinary practice. In fact the only risk is the undeniable one of inhaling smoke of any kind on a regular basis, no different to the risk to humans. Originally Posted by Weedhound Originally Posted by Weedhound

Acute toxicity studies show that it is virtually impossible to die from acute administration of marijuana or tetrahydrocannabinol,

Dog dies after eating cannabis.I agree with you that writing in block letters does not make my point more impressive.....it simply makes me sound like an ass which is exactly how I acted. If you are interested this thread includes the STANDARD veterinary treatment for cannabis toxicity written by the Merck Veterinary Manuel which is a universally accepted method to follow in this rather common form of toxicity.

This will be my last post on this subject and I will go ahead and put you on ignore Psychotic Episode so don't bother to fire back with your own comments as I won't see them.

Dog dies after eating cannabis. That compounded by the fact that you're completely wrong, as anyone who bothers to look at the evidence will see. Originally Posted by Weedhound Originally Posted by Weedhound

My response to your post wasn't for your benefit anyway, it was just to ensure that anyone who was reading the post wasn't fooled by your credentials, 20 years of working as a minimum wage shit shoveller, cleaning up for the veterinarians . I think that's been achieved. . I think that's been achieved.

Inhalation of tobacco and marijuana in dog over a period of 30 months: effect on body weight, food intake and organ weight.

The measures of body weight and food intake in marijuana or tobacco smoking dogs and a non-smoking control group show no significant change after 27 months of inhalation; except a slowing of weight gain during 9 months, in spite of increased food consumption at 3 months. During this period, the tobacco smokers ate much less and at the 9 th month only a significant slowing in weight gain was noted. At the end of the experiment, the organ weight/total weight ratio of these 3 groupes of dogs presented no significant difference.

I'm concerned for dog owners in the US if scientists can give a dog cannabis in large doses for 30 months, with no ill effects, yet weedhounds employers manage to kill a significant number of dogs whose owners turn up at the practice for treatment for cannabis toxicity.Toxicity of marijuana and tobacco smoking in the beagle.
