Hezbollah leads bloody clash with Siniora camp

BEIRUT -- Hezbollah-led protesters burned tires and cars and clashed with government supporters yesterday, paralyzing Beirut and areas across Lebanon in the worst violence yet in the pro-Iranian group's campaign to topple U.S.-backed Prime Minister Fuad Siniora.
At least three persons were killed and dozens injured as the two camps battled each other around street barricades with stone-throwing and in some cases gunfire. Black smoke poured into the sky over Beirut from burning roadblocks.
The fighting quickly took on a dangerous sectarian tone in a country whose divided communities fought a bloody 1975-90 civil war. Gunmen from neighboring districts in the northern city of Tripoli -- one largely Sunni Muslim, the other largely Alawites, a Shi'ite Muslim offshoot -- fought each other, causing two of the fatalities.

Iranian backed Hezbollah was just into it with Israel. Now their fucking with the REAL government. Not to mention a Sunni led government.

People say the Bush should talk to Iran to create a peace. Hell, a Muslim state in that region can't even reason with Iran. What I don't understand here is Syria.....being Sunni dominant aren't their leaders kind of playing bitch to Iran? I wonder how the Syrian people feel about their brother Sunnis being killed off by Iranian weapons.

That region is a clusterfuck right now and I don't think the source is the U.S. There are certainly underlying currents in the area Sunnis-VS-Shiites, but the USA has been the big stick stirring the pot. now that we've got it boiling, why not leave and let them fight it out. We could kick back and trade oil for weapons just like we've been doing for years and make sure each side had plenty of guns and ammo. When they run low on ammo, the oil companies can feed us another line of crap and tell us how they've got to raise the price to $100.00 a barrel because it's too hard to get the oil out in a combat zone. ~LOL~
