Senator Kerry says he's not running for president.
WASHINGTON: Senator John Kerry, the Massachusetts Democrat who narrowly lost the presidency to President George W. Bush in 2004, announced that he would not proceed with a second bid for the White House and said he preferred to use his position in the new Senate majority to press for an end to U.S. involvement in Iraq.

But what about the PLAN. The plan that would unite the world, it was a good plan, well thought plan, a plan that the nation would be proud of. Never knew what the plan was.....thought after 4 years he would be able to tell us. LOL
Press for an end to the U.S. involvement in Iraq.....is that Democrat for "cut and run" or "Flip-flop"?

I find it funny people all jumped on him for "flip-flopping". Can not someone learn down the road that there original decision might not be the best? A snip-it from John Kerry's web site.
Thereâ??s something much worse than being accused of â??flip-floppingâ?: refusing to flip when itâ??s obvious that your course of action is a flop.
I say this to President Bush as someone who learned the hard way how embracing the worldâ??s complexity can be twisted into a crude political shorthand. Barbed words can make for great politics. But with U.S. troops in Iraq in the middle of an escalating civil war, this is no time for politics. Refusing to change course for fear of the political fallout is not only dangerous â?? it is immoral.
Iâ??d rather explain a change of position any day than look a parent in the eye and tell them that their son or daughter had to die so that a broken policy could live.

That is a pretty powerful quote from Kerry. Before this thread I wasn't really aware of the plan that Kerry had as he was running for president during the last election. Then again, I have become more involved with politics since then too.

If 'flip-flopping' is his biggest character weakness....
...i feel we should elect him immediately and get bush's stupid fucking ass out.
i mean after all....we say "NO MORE WAR" and what does he do??
ignores the ruling majority of this democratic nation and sends MORE!
but anyway, thats no suprise he wont run.....after last election, which he should have won, i wouldnt run either.
and for those of you that dont know what im talking about, i suggest you watch HBO's documentary "Hacking Democracy"...it shows, in no uncertain terms, how corrupt and secretive our election process really is...when constitutionally speaking, its supposed to be public knowledge.
things like:
*cracked (or 'hacked') voting machines from DEBOLD..(get this) BEFORE they were even shipped! HAH!
*FEDERAL Felonies - like throwing out pole tapes to hide the fact that they have obviously been tampered with and/or hidden from the public.
*other great things that the majority of the public knows nothing about thnx o big media.Cough drops can give Breathalyzers false positive readings.
In 2004, 784 people died by overdosing on caffeine.
\"Let me tell you this, the older you do get the more rules they\'re gonna try to get you to follow. You just gotta keep livin\' man, L-I-V-I-N.\"

I don't really care for Kerry anyway, he's just another status-quo politician with variations on the same general idea. There's a disappointing lack of ideological differences in the states.
