Pot legalities in ON/CA?
Can anyone give me a brief rundown of the important details of the laws/penalties in Ontario and/or Canada especially for cannabis possession and maybe cultivation on a purely personal use level? I've smoked here and in BC, and with much more openness and less fear than anywhere I've been in the US, and observed locals act even more so, and I know the enforcement isn't as aggressive and the policy isn't as draconian here as it is there. But I'm not certain about the exact circumstances, like what amounts equate to A) pretty much being ignored by the public and authorities, B) possibly getting cited for a lower level (municipal/provincial/other) infraction and merely having to pay a fine, or C) probably being arrested/charged with a more serious crime and facing a criminal record and probation, jail, etc. I've also been diagnosed and am being treated with medication for a health condition for which cannabis use has been proven to be beneficial and which I understand falls under Category 2 of Canada's medical marijuana access program. So I'd also be interested in information about whether it would be feasibile to try the medical marijuana license route and how difficult it is to find an area physician for that. Many thanks in advance to anyone who can help me.

I live in Ontario, and I'd recommend not being too open about your possession/use. I'm in highschool, and they still bring in police dogs occasionally and bust kids for having pot in their lockers. If a cop catches you smoking/in possession of weed, you'll probably get arrested.

Pot legalities in ON/CA?
ok buddy just thank god your in bc i live in ont and oh the sordid stories i could tell but i wont too long of a story but heres the deal get coaught with hash and your fuckd its a thc concentrate and considered a hard drug by law enforcement same with oil get caught with under an ounce in one bag with no scale or other baggies and you could possibly get off with a charge and minimum jail time depending on your judge and lawer with a scale and pre bagged dope and your staying in the pen min. of two months for traffiking and growing for personal use or large scale is still production of an illigal narcotic that i believe is classed as shcedual one so again depending on judge and lawer jail time can minimal or unfairly wrong i had a buddy who had 3 pounds get caught and he spent 6 months even though he had dealt to both the judge and his lawer so this just proves what my conversations with police have allready told me nothings really set in stone here since our 2002 incident where ottawa made it a fineable offence and than changed it back at the end of the summer for the best info call a cop station in ont and ask i guess i could be wrong about this stuff too
