Nutrients are liquid or solid to liquid when mixed. The plant uptakes the nutrients through the roots Co² is absorbed through the leafs by the stomata and the plant uses it in the chlorophyll process.

There are some "pills" called CO² tablets that calmed to work as good as the gas. I have not tried them but I do know they guy who first introduced it to our community. He was the founder of No Mercy seeds and is a very skilled grower. He is in jail now for taxes I think it is but all the same he has used those pills for years and say's they work.

Personally I have not tried them so I can't say one way or the other my preference is the gas, I know how well that works.
