    question about soil and transfer

recently i learned that the soil i am using is somewhat unsatisfactory. my plant is still small enough where it is in its first smaller container. if i use better soil when i transplant, will it be beneficial, or has the damage already been done.

i am using scott's seed starting soil. my plant is growing very slowly.

what kind of commonly available soil should i use for my grow? nothing too fancy, preferably available at wal-mart or home depot (though home depot did not seem to have much of a selection).

    thanks.

here is a link to my last thread (with pics): http://boards.cannabis.com/indoor-gr...lems-pics.html

For sure! What do you have to lose? She's still young... get yourself some SuperThrive (or any b1 forumal) to aid in the transplanting and do it asap. SuperThrive works like a charm!!!

your plant looks quite yellow (but maybe it's from the lighting in the pic?), so perhaps the reason it is growing so slowly is because it needs food!

transplanting is a good idea tho. whenever i have transplanted my plants they have just exploded in growth!! a lot of people say that when u transplant your plant may not grow too fast until it recovers from the shock, but that hasnt been my experience at all. mine grow like an inch overnight, after being transplanted.

    question about soil and transfer

wow thanks for all the quick replies.

yeh i'm a little reluctant to feed because i burned one of my plants last grow by accident. the soil still seems a little damp also, and i also overwatered my last plant a couple times.

where would be the best place to get superthrive? a nursery? i'll have to look one up in my area.

when is the best time of day to feed? at the beginning, middle, or end of the light cycle?

    question about soil and transfer

yeah that's actually what i'm using. it worked pretty well for my first grow. i'm wondering why this grow is going so slow though. i should be ready to start flowering by now. hopefully growth will pick up as i add some more nutes

I think that your plant is not deficient, it is locked out.
Notice that the stems are reddish while the leaves are yellow...

    FLUSH FLUSH FLUSH

3x the volume of your pot in water... allow to flow through and drain... then begin feeding at 1/4 strength with a veg nute (high N, + micronutrients)

Home depot has shitty soil selection. If you have a farmers supply near you go there and get some REAL dirt! Agway's composted cow manure with humus, plus 40% perlite, is my base soil mix.
