Me neither, hehe.

But I don't really see what the big problem with fads is anyhow. A group mentality can be healthy sometimes. If the fad doesn't involve believing something false or doing something immoral, I don't see what the harm is. As a social creature, we evolved in groups where we emulate each other's behavior to a large extent. It's just human nature, and nobody can escape it.

There are tons of things we do on a daily basis that don't really make any logical sense, but we do them anyways just because everybody else does. We shake hands, we say "mice" instead of "mouses", we hike up our pants if our ass crack is showing, we refrain from picking our noses in front of others, we say "bless you" when somebody sneezes, we wear matching socks, and on and on and on. These are all fads that have been going on for a long time, but nobody has a problem with them because they're not hurting anybody. There's nothing wrong with doing these things just to fit in and not look like a complete weirdo.

That's not to say we should base all our behavior on what other people are doing. There's plenty of room for individuality and uniqueness, but if we don't share at least some things in common with our peers then it becomes very difficult to really connect with them. Choosing to go along with a fad is not something that you should be ashamed of. That's your choice to make as an individual, and if you find it makes you happy, by all means go ahead and do it. If you fall for the "reject all fads" fad, you're going to find yourself quite alienated.
