I'm guessing you are young and don't live together. I would adivise against unprotected sex. It is one thing when you live with the person and know she is taking the pill on time every night. I wouldn't trust a teenage girl to take it everynight at the same time.

Not to mention I saw a thing on the news about how they have lowered the potency of the drugs and so when girls do skip a day, the pill is much more likely not to work.

This is actually true. The new pills have a much lower amount of hormones. It makes the side-effects less common, but you really need to take them at the same time every day now.

I agree entirely with the first part as well. If I dont remind the girlfriend to take her pill, she would probably forget a couple times a week.
