    6 week old weaklings

It will be 6 weeks this Thursday (Jan. 25) since the seeds cracked. I'm disappointed in the size of my plants compared with other success stories that I see online. Please look at the attached pictures and give me some idea of what I might be doing wrong.

    I'm a first-time grower
The color of the leaves looks good
    The roots are great
I don't know the strain of seed; got them from a friend who got them from Amsterdam. He doesn't remember the strain. Do some strains start slower than others?

Full Nutrients for seedlings. [watering twice a day, 1 hour each time]
    Daytime temp. 70 F average
    Nighttime temp. 55 F average
Transferred starter cubes into 8" pots because roots were sprouting out all sides of the cubes.
Lights on 18 hours/day [3 sets of double flourescent] 1 in each set is "warm"
I added a heating pad for seedlings 20"x20". [thinking nighttime temp might be a little low]

First of all, NICE SETUP. I like it. Simple, but clean and effective. Good job with the irrigation.

I only have a few minutes, so I'll spit out what "I" think is wrong:

Yes, they do look smallish to me for 6 weeks...

The main thing that pops to my mind is TEMPERATURE. 55F is too low. It can stunt the growth of the plant. Even a larger plant will slow down severly and even stunt in cold temperatures like that. It is even worse for seedlings and small rooting clones. You did good to put the heating mat in there. When did you do that? And have you seen any difference?

One other thing...please move your wiring. Those plugs are very dangerous down there UNDERneath your auto-watering device. Pull them up off the floor and away from the water. You may not thank me later, but you'll curse yourself if you don't.

Otherwise...they look healthy. I really hope they pick up for you. Maybe try getting those temps within a closer range. 65F-80F shld be ok. I'm curious as to what strain it is...hmmm. I know you said you don't know, but I'm curious if it came out of Dam. Keep us posted on your progess, please. Good luck.

Sorry, they're friggin' tiny for six weeks veg. Also, they're stretched and skinny.

I think they're just a little under nourished. Slight purple on stem and leaves just a little pale suggest that to me, together with general skinnyness.
Are the roots being constricted from growing out of the rockwool?
Check the roots, what do they look like?
I can't see any fan, you need a fan blowing on the stems to fatten them up.
Other than that, it must be too little light, I think.

    Thanks for the info guys.
I put a fan in the room, bought a heater, and hung the wires off the floor. I also got the plants on a mild full nutrients instead of the seedling rate.
I don't see a problem with the lights,so im good there.
The room temp is at 74 degrees.

I'll update this thread in one week with pictures.

Well, I upped the nutrients, adjusted the temp and now they're all dead. I think I burned them out and I'm just ticked off. F**K THIS! Thanks for the good info, but this has just turned out to be too much trouble. \\

I found a friend to take the light fixtures. It was a valiant try, but I'll stick to brewing beer.

Thanks guys. Have fun. Good luck.

dude i messed up a few times myself. my first time our i germinated about 200 seeds hat were given to me by various peeps.
I planted then in 2X2 pots for a few weeks and they eventually died. either by not enough light or by forgetting to water them of by streatching and falling over. but I kept with it and grew an indinca 4' and got about 1 oz from her. that was my 5th grow.
now I am on my 6th grow, armed with an underground army ready to answer my call for help and I believe i will get 200 or more grams per girl this time around with my 2 girls.
any temp under 65 and the plant will stop growing.

Damn they died, that really sucks I"m sorry. I noticed when my temps were between 65-70 my plants were nothing, once I adjusted the temps back up to 75 minimum they shot out of the ground, 6th node is popping up, it'll be a month old in 3 days
