Cannabis and driving As a new driver i was wondering what the laws are about cannabis and driving, my rule is if i can feel i am stoned i wont drive. But what does the law say because sometimes i stop feeling stoned about 1 and a half hours after a joint. there must be a cut off point with the law, where is the point? how many hours after a spliff are you leagaly allowed to drive? tallulah...yeah i was 18...i wanted out of that shit in the worst way, i was going to try anything...i hadnt resigned to the idea that you can't beat the govt yet. i told my lawyer my theory on that, he looked at me like i was on crack....that doesn't work either.

What god fearing state were you in when this happened. I think its ridiculous.

i did take it to court. i tried to get it thrown out because of illegal search and seizure....i tried to argue the whole that was no way to prove that i was stoned at the time. fuck i even tried that rastafarian defense. doesnt work

Driving whilst stoned is stupid and irresponsible.
You are driving a ton of metal while your senses are impaired, what you going to tell yourself if you're involved in a fatal accident?
Most stoners get nicked while driving because of a stupid fuck up like forgetting to switch on thier lights or not indicating for a turn.

My rule of thumb is to not give a reason to pull over and get searched. That and try not to smoke in the car too much. I've been pulled over dozens of times with weed in the car somewhere, but if you don't look and act stoned and the car doesn't reek, the cop won't want to look. At least they don't bother me.
Of course, I'm a clean cut white guy in his mid 20s. You minority people may get the hard end of the racial profiling stick, I just don't know. If you're some young black kid that just got stuck with a beat up car, then the media says you may get beat down by the fuzz just for just driving around. If that was the case, I would just never smoke in the car. Sorry I wish it was better
