Hello Ladies & Gents,

Well, well, well..earlier this eveing the old lady was asking me when am I going to get this big ass non working 56 inch projection screen tv out of the living room and me having enough of hearing it decided tonight I would dissassemble it and take it out piece by piece. I opened up the back and started taking out the guts (man that shits heavy inside), and after clearing everything out...well lets just say this joker aint leavin just yet, at least not the cabinet. I got a 40LX20Wx56H cabinet here beggin to be reincarnated into what?,,,a new home for Mary. already subterfuged for me.LOL, its perfect. It has vent holes already cut out and even vents in the floor of the cabinet. I naturally have some serious mods to do here but I wanted to post the pics so I can get some good ideas from everyone. In picture 1 you can see the size of the TV. Picture 2 shows the inside of the cabinet. Picture 3 is the full inside of the cabinet.

The first thing I am going to do is modify the back. As you can see the back has a porous particle board back. I will be replacing this with some wood and am going to make it on hinges to open from the bottom up for easy access to the entire bottom and halfway up the cabinet itself. Got a long way to go designing exhaust and intake, mylar and what not but this is going to be easy. I plan on putting everything inside, including the carbon scrubber with the scrubber exhaust in the top of the cabinet blowing toward the ceiling. What does everyone think. I couldnt ask for a better donor. And here i was about to go to Homie Depot and get wood...shame on me, thats 100 bucks I just saved...LOL, and this shit has built in. I would like to keep the cabinet the same on the outside but inside is fair game...getting started tomorrow.

The fourth picture shows the bottom of the inside. As you can see the two square cutouts are vents that go under the tv cabinet itself and can be modoified to do what I need. Same with the speaker holes in the front, they will definitely be intakes. As you can see the tv is funny shaped in the back at the top and slopes down on about a 45 degree angle. Thats cool cause there is still plenty of room, and as far as the screen itself, it will stay in place but there will be wood inside behind the screen for darkness and sealing. Come on folks, lets hear it, anybody did one like this before in a big screen?..give me some constructive criticisim here, if this one works out I got 2 more that dont work and believe me they will get reincarnated and put on the old auction block to my buddies.

Sorry couldnt put the pic of the back up, didnt know there was only 5 pics allowed.
