Eminem is a good rapper, IMO. He's definitely not the best, but he's still a good lyricist nonetheless. I think I have to agree though that his older albums and material was much better than his new stuff.

He has definitely crossed from being just good...to being great...I don't even think that's debatable. He affected an entire genre of music in a positive way...simply put...then you can break it down in whatever way you want...but he at least did that.

Eminem is a whiny little girl. Oh, mommy beat me and doesn't love me, boo hoo hoo, feel sorry for me, I'm so sad and angry, I like pills and killing my ex-wife, and etc...
So yeah, his voice is even worse. Reminds me of Steve Urkel when he's just hitting puberty.
Talent? Hardley. Rap isn't talent, hip-hop is talent. Hip-hop deals with lyrcis that mean something. Eminem and fellow rappers are just talking shit about a bunch of crap when comes the time, they would never have the balls to do. Rap is all talk, More like, emo-rap.

He flows really well, its just too bad that he's got nothing worthwhile to talk about. What an absolute waste of talent.
I'm totally feeling the poster who said De La and J5 earlier. Good music is where it's at.

i'm not a fan of rap by any stretch of the imagination, i wear flannel, chew copenhagen, drink budweiser, listen to blue grass, country and rock and roll.
but eminem is talented no doubt about it.

Beg your pardon.. Biggie and Tupac rapped and their "meaningful" songs outweigh any "guns and bitches" rap they did. And I am not sure if anyone here unnderstands how inspirational of the whole music scene these two were.
De La Soul is indeed the shit. Good Call

Hey, that's something I've never thought about before. I'm sure he would be a wicked lyricist if he wrote about things that had a little more meaning.

Take a hip-hopper like KRS-One, now that is some lyrical skills, and the guy is still being propped after 20 years of making it on the scene. Now he will be remebered as an influence and change in the hip-hop world. Hi-hop is something that stays, rappers come and go. One by one, they all sound the same.
Anyways, I'm done mocking Eminem.
