First, Where did you get this information from, that he beats his wife. I googled it and came up with nothing. Unless you have a source to back up your claim other than "rumours" than I suggest you don't post it. You see I can say something like Chavez sleeps with 5 women in his bed and some idiot will copy what I said and post it somewhere else on the internet or whatnot.

Second, of course there are going to be people that disagree with what he is doing. It's a democracy, not 100% of the people in the nation will agree with him, it just so turns out that the majority do. I've seen anti-chavez marches before, mostly all of them came from their rich neighborhoods, wearing their jewlery, expensive clothes and whatnot, claiming he's a dictator and that they wish to oust him. Don't get me wrong, there's thousands of them, and it's THEIR country so they have a right to not agree with him. But their are millions of people that wish him to remain president, the majority of the nation, hence the word democracy.

Perhaps Bong just goes along with the Bush/America loving image because he's afraid that he'll be thrown in Gitmo if he criticizes his government.

Now don't get me wrong. I like the model of the US Constitution, but I would really like to see the US live up to it. I mean, Bush trying to ban gay marriage IN YOUR CONSTITUTION really upset me. Here, it is perfectly legal and is of no big concern and the only people who don't like it are the radical Christian right wing nuts. Everyone else is fine with it. Kind of weird that have a country have the act legal...and another one making it illegal in their constitution. Seems like America is starting not to become the land of the free.
