recirculating bucket Question
I was interested in building a recirculating bucket system and was wondering when u hook up the pump to the drip feed lines does it put stress on the pump since there is back pressure from not being able to pump alot at once because of the drippers?

recirculating bucket Question
Problem is that I already have a pump that is 250 gph but i dont believe its adjustable so i was wondering how it would work with 6 buckets with drippers...

recirculating bucket Question
If there is to much pressure, it will not drip...it will just come out in a steam. You either need a less powerful pump (they really arent that expensive, $20-30?) or you need to be running enough buckets that its power is dispersed. 250 gph sounds like to much for a drip system, but I run a recirculating dwc so I require more pressure.

recirculating bucket Question
It shouldnt stress the pump and im assuming you are ussing drip heads so it wont just stream out. the higher gph pumps use magnets anyway so u dont have to worry about burning out the pump.

The only pumps you can burn up like that are compressor type pumps....the motor will still spin free just not as fast under load.

recirculating bucket Question
I set mine up to stream under the lid instead of drip in to the pots. But one thing else I did was instead of capping off the 1/2" hose, I put a valve at the end, so I can leave it open slightly. It stirs the res water constantly that way, and if I want more or less drip/stream, I just turn the knob a bit. Moving water is more dissolved oxygen too, so I think it's a nice way to go.

recirculating bucket Question
yeah actually its good that u will have pressure, this way your water streams under the lid will be efficient. i have a 300gph pump and i run it with an auqau shuttle kit its a 6 drip system. and the pump has a connector that has a small hole and it stirs my res, talk about over kill.
