Interesting tidbit about The Doors I learned...

    high all,

So I'm sitting here, listening to the radio, and every Sunday, they do a "legends of Classic Rock" special on a band from that era, well today it was the Doors. They have interviews inbetween songs with the remaining members, and the Organ player (I don't know his name ), said the song Mr.Mojo Risin, that Jim, after recording one night, started playing around with the letter of that title of the song, rearranging them in a new order. He spelt out his name, Jim Morrison, with the letters Mr. Mojo Risin.

Think about it! Takes a smart person to see that.

Also, if anyone here has seen the Stone movie The Doors, in the start of the movie, where a young Jim sees a dead indian on the side of the road and he thinks the indians spirit goes inside of him. He really, truely thought that happened. Quite a revelation for an 8yr old to have I must say.

Anyways, I just wanted to share that.

Yes, the Doors are amazing. What makes it all most amazing, is that were around for only 5 years. It's amazing that bands can have that big of an impact in music in such a short period. I mean, everyone knows who Morrison or the Doors are.

You've probably already heard this, but Morrison had a very high IQ, and his dad was an admiral in the Navy, which isn't an easy position to obtain. Bright family...

I just got done reading "The Lizard King," which was all about Jim and his personal life, including stuff never before released. Great book by the way..

    Anyways.

One interesting thing I remember was the last time he saw him mom.

When the Doors started to get really popular, Jim invited his parents, whom he hadn't seen for about 2 years, to a show near their hometown.

His father was always busy with his job, so his mom was the only one to show up. The two had sent a couple letters back and forth as Jim was on tour early on, but to be frank, they were nearly enemies.

So as Jim walks out on stage, he passes right by his mom, says nothing, and starts the show. And I'm sure all of you know his infamous lyrics in "The End," where he says,

"Father...../ Yes son?/ I want to kill you....
    Mother.....I want to...FUCK YOU,"

Well, as he says this, he looks his mom directly in the eyes, with this evil look on his face.

    The two never spoke again.

And that's why Jim's so fuggin' interesting. I would have loved the chance to pick at his brain. ~
