Brown leaf edges.. What's the problem?

Hi I got this plant from a friend and I think it was overwatered since the leaves are all curled. I transplanted it a little over a week ago but I have not noticed much growth. I water it maybe every four days since it's in a big pot. I'm using a good organic soil and I have 3 cfls and an exhaust fan. I'm wondering about the leaves because I've noticed the edges of my new growth are brown (red) and some of the lower fans are getting brown in the center but not the edges (blue). Any help is greatly appreciated.

I'd say Over-Fert, but I just got saved in another thread in this forum so what do I know.

    Nut Disorder Link

The soil may be hot for a little plant, or there could be some lockout issues. I'd try flushing it with PH adusted water (adjusted to 6.5 - 7.0) and giving it some time. These things have a way of looking like nothing's happening for a few days and then BOOM! It takes off.

hmm i think you are right about over watering dude, go to Indoor Growing and check out the thread entitled something like "link to plant problems guide" there are a TON of great guides on there (i personally like the one by IC mag), so try one of those and diagnose away!

First off, that pot is way to big for that little plant, get it into a smaller one, if you dont, the roots will grow huge, the plant will stay small, and re-potting will be a bitch... like.. you will have to find a huge pot next re-potting, just for a small plant.. which wastes space...
That brown stuff on the leaves is either heat stress, mg deff. or light nute burn, so if i were you i'd flush any remaining nutes out of the pot and add some epsom salts.. if it continues to burn, either move the light away, or add some ventilation, and get a little fan blowing across the light.. just so temps should drop a little.. (make sure the fan goes off at night)

hope that helps... i think it mostly looks like heat stress and over-watering, but i cant be certain... - good luck...
